Flying Competition Sunday 4th September 2011

Report by Club Sec Ian Leff

The competition went ahead even though the weather was not that great until around 3pm

There were only a handful of members that took part all of whom were fixed wing pilots so the Helicopter competition was postponed until next time.

A lot of fun was had by all, and one of the funniest sites was in the target egg drop

competition.

All pilots had to strap a plastic drinking cup on to the top of their plane and put in a hard boiled egg.

You had to fly a circuit without loosing the egg and when ready, do a roll and drop the egg onto the target marked on the edge of the strip. The nearest to the target was the winner.

Several of us had a go, and then it came to Tony Coomes turn.

He was so transfixed on the egg when it left his beloved Wot 4 that he was only watching the egg and not his plane.

The instant result was the Wot 4 hitting the deck and getting rather wrecked.

I apologise now but I nearly wet myself through laughing.

Tony is a great sport and took it on the chin.

Some great prizes were awarded to the winners and runner ups who were.
